Customer Service!!

Say it with me everyone “Customer Service”. I thought that this would be a great discussion topic since many of us do more online shopping than store shopping and/or own an online business. Let’s not just categorize this just for online businesses. I want the make-up artist, photographers, and hairstylist to join in as well!

With social media being so huge and the word of mouth of bad business can go out faster than ever, how important is having good customer service to your business?

What is the proper turnaround time on responding to emails? I think this is an awesome question! Many of the customers need to know because many of them think that you’re supposed to answer them immediately (guilty).

What about the owners that just do not email back at all?! But then you don’t want them to contact you on social media?! It that a signal that you just don’t want to help the person at all?

If you’re not able to help a customer, or just do not want to service a particular customer, is it ok to refer them to someone else who can?

Now on to the purchasers, clients, consumers, or whatever you want to call them. I think a lot of times we think that we’re the only ones that are making a purchase, have questions about the merchandise, and need help with tracking a shipment! (once again guilty)

We have to take into consideration that we are not the ONLY customers that people have. We sometimes fail to realize that people have a life outside of their business and social media.

But I have experienced bad customer service from a couple of online (Instagram) boutiques. Like someone rolling up a dress that I paid $130 in a grocery bag…

It seems like many have started an online business because everyone else is doing it, or selling an item to get some fast cash. Or many want the success that some online boutiques have and don’t realize that many of these boutiques and some stylists existed before Instagram. Do your research people!

Well I just wanted to vent. I’m sure I will get some interesting feedback from this subject! I can’t wait to read everyone responses! Now GO! Lol
